How to deep clean and maintain Epilator or Hair-removing tools?

29 Jul

Hair-removing tools make the work easier and faster for us, but those machines need regular cleaning and sanitization for better performance.

These tools do not only pick up hairs but also dead skin, sweat, dirt, grease, etc. Without frequent cleaning, you will notice that your machine is not working the way it used to.

After many attempts to clean the epilator and trimmer, hairs were usually left between tweezers or blades. After many tries and different solutions, I found an effective process to deep clean hair-removing tools hygienically.

This technique is only for waterproof machines.!! Do not follow these steps if your machine is not waterproof.

Before and After cleaning

Things you need:

  1. Isopropanol (Rubbing Alcohol)
  2. Baby wipes
  3. Water

Here are the links to the products that I used.

Steps to clean your hair-removing tool.

Step 1:

Unplug them and disassemble all the removable parts of any tool you want to clean and wash them with water.

Step 2:

Pour 100 ml Isopropanol and the same amount of water into a beaker or bowl (use glass or plastic).

Step 3:

Soak all removable parts into that solution for 10 minutes. After that wash them under running water using a cleaning brush, almost every hair-removing tool comes with a cleaning brush. If you didn’t have, you can use a toothbrush too.

Step 4:

Let them drain for a while and then wipe all parts with baby wipes.

Step 5:

Let them dry for 2 whole days in a dry and ventilated place before using them again.

Clean your epilator, shaver/razor or trimmer with these steps every 2-4 months, depends on your usage, to remove any dirt and debris and enjoy the disinfected tool for your beautiful skin.

Tip: If you find limescale, wipe those parts with baby wipes dipped in vinegar. If it doesn’t work with vinegar-dipped wipes, you can also soak them in water-vinegar solution for 2-3 minutes and rinse with water.
